Offshore sailing from Azores to Brittany

Offshore sailing from Azores to Brittany, aboard a crewed 21m monohull. Departing from Horta on the island of Faial in the Azores, set sail for a 14-day sailing course. This course is organised in two stages. The first few days are spent roaming around, discovering some of the islands of the archipelago. You’ll then set off for the ‘big jump’, around 1500 nautical miles for an offshore sailing course in the North Atlantic.

Located on the latitude of Lisbon in the North Atlantic Ocean, the 9 islands of this Portuguese archipelago are of volcanic origin. Their northerly position and oceanic climate give them lush vegetation. The Azores Sea is home to some very special marine life, including various species of cetacean, the most common of which are sperm whales, whales and dolphins.

The first five or six days are devoted to coastal sailing and stopovers on the islands of Pico, São Jorge, Terceira, São Miguel… At this time of year, many local festivals and events take place on the islands.

Selon les conditions météorologiques observées, le temps de navigation dans l’Océan Atlantique pour rallier Lorient sera de 7 à 9 jours. Cette navigation hauturière est l’occasion de découvrir l’atmosphère et l’ambiance du large. Équipier à part entière, votre participation est pleinement participative et engagée (manœuvres, météo, technique, cuisine, repos, lecture, etc). Encadré par deux marins professionnels, diplômés Capitaine 200 Voile et Brevet d’État, la vie à bord est organisée autour des quarts montants et descendants.

Depending on weather conditions, the sailing time in the Atlantic Ocean to reach Lorient will be 7 to 9 days. This offshore sailing is an opportunity to discover the atmosphere and ambience of offshore sailing. As a fully-fledged crew member, you will be fully involved and committed (manoeuvres, weather forecasting, techniques, cooking, resting, reading, etc.). Supervised by two professional sailors, qualified as Capitaine 200 Voile and Brevet d’État, life on board is organised around up and down watches.
